These paintings are a fusion of vibrant cityscapes, nostalgic reflections, and bold graphic elements. Commissioned by the University of Wollongong in Dubai for their student lounge, Wollongbai reimagines the connection between two dynamic cities—blending Wollongong’s landmarks with Dubai’s contemporary skyline to create an imagined world that bridges cultures and histories.
The cityscape and landscape paintings draw inspiration from beautiful architecture and iconic sites around the world, celebrating the energy and artistry of urban and natural environments. In contrast, my character and figurative works often respond to thoughts and emotions felt in the moment of painting—offering a raw, introspective counterpoint to the structured cityscapes. From dinosaurs symbolizing a playful resistance to growing up, to video game-inspired triptychs and pop art tributes to everyday scenes, each piece carries its own narrative.
Many of these works have been showcased in solo and group exhibitions with some now residing in public and private collections.
